Metastable two-component solitons near an exceptional point

چکیده

We consider a two-dimensional nonlinear waveguide with distributed gain and losses. The optical potential describing the system consists of an unperturbed complex depending only on one transverse coordinate, i.e., corresponding to planar waveguide, small non-separable perturbation both coordinates. It is assumed that spectrum features exceptional point (EP), while drives into unbroken phase. Slightly below EP, sustains two-component envelope solitons. derive one-dimensional equations for slowly varying envelopes components show their stable propagation. When traverse directions are taken account within framework original model, obtained bright solitons become metastable persist over remarkably long propagation distances.

Two-component gap solitons with linear interconversion

We consider one-dimensional solitons in a binary Bose-Einstein condensate with linear coupling between the components, trapped in an optical-lattice potential. The interand intraspecies interactions may be either repulsive or attractive. The main effects considered here are spontaneous breaking of the symmetry between components in symmetric and antisymmetric solitons, and spatial splitting bet...

Unstaggered-staggered solitons in two-component discrete nonlinear Schrödinger lattices.

We present stable bright solitons built of coupled unstaggered and staggered components in a symmetric system of two discrete nonlinear Schrödinger equations with the attractive self-phase-modulation nonlinearity, coupled by the repulsive cross-phase-modulation interaction. These mixed modes are of a "symbiotic" type, as each component in isolation may only carry ordinary unstaggered solitons. ...

Absolutely Stable Solitons in Two-component Active Systems

As is known, a solitary pulse in the complex cubic Ginzburg-Landau (GL) equation is unstable. We demonstrate that a system of two linearly coupled GL equations with gain and dissipation in one subsystem and pure dissipation in another produces absolutely stable solitons and their bound states. The problem is solved in a fully analytical form by means of the perturbation theory. The soliton coex...
